Wind gust of nearly 30 mph this past Saturday, June 18th out on Lake Sakatah but I did manage a few fish. Texas rigging a 6” Deception Worm with an 1/8 oz. tungsten flipping weight and chatterbait were my go-to lures!

I took JT out for a little fishing adventure yesterday afternoon. We stopped at a gas station to pick up a couple cans of waxies. JT caught about a dozen nice bluegills and pumpkinseed sunfish within an hour. Fun day at the lake!
What a great fun Iowa trip spending the last couple days fishing for big chunky bass with these awesome guys! Biggest was around 21 inches. It was nice to breakaway from the long cold winter and catch some fish. Definitely a memorable trip!

A fun family outing to the Northwest Sportshow this past Saturday! We stopped at the Hi Tempo Snowsports & Watersports booth first checking out the latest Hobie Outback model and catching up with my friends Jay Suhsen and Grant Carston.
Brrr… It’s a cold morning when every few casts the rod guides/eyelets freeze over. Bass were still chomping though. This one on a jig and an Adrenaline Bug!
One word to describe today’s fishing…JIGS!! Except for one lone small bass caught on a spinnerbait earlier in the morning, the bass were stacked up shallow in the trees and deep in the pads. The only thing they seemed to want was a brown flipping jig rigged with an X Zone Lures Adrenaline Bug applied with Baitmate Fish Attractant BiteStick Max. Chilly day but well worth the effort on this fine fall day.
Fishing a small bass lake, this chunky channel cat was a surprise catch! This one slammed a squarebill crank not too far from my canoe.
A bit of an hiatus from fishing but it felt great to be back on the water! The bass bit well all day.
