Arcadia Lodge
Big Turtle Lake – Bigfork, MN
June 14-21, 202
Hosts: The Jones – Steve, Casey, & Kylie
\Stacey, Joshua, and I made our 9th family vacation/fishing trip together to Arcadia Lodge up on Big Turtle Lake. We stayed in the Rustic cabin for the seventh time.
With Josh’s broken that happened mid-May during a soccer game, we decided to rent a golf cart for the week. To make it easier for him to get around to different activities. Boy was it worth it!! Almost every day, we would take it out for a ride around the gravel roads for scenic viewing. Stacey did the golf cart driving and chauffeured us around. We ate a lot and ate everything we brought to the cabin. Ice cream in multiple flavors served in the lodge, and we had a cone almost every day. We all had fun participating in creating our own tie dye t-shirts! All of our shirts turned out great, but I think both Stacey and Joshua’s shirts turned out the best. I spent most mornings and evenings fishing alone except for a couple mornings when Joshua joined me. Stacey and Joshua got into some fishing also, and the few times they joined they both landed some nice fish. Late mornings and evenings were spent enjoying in the cabin watching a movie if it rained which it did for about half the trip. The weather was much cooler than years past. Our dog Charlie enjoyed his stay as well with walks, boat rides, gold cart ride, and a dip into the lake for a doggy swim.
Smallmouth bass action was pretty good! Sunday evening started off good and each day got better and better with Wednesday being the ultimate bite day. Then a cold front came through Thursday, and the bite mostly shut off through Friday but still caught fish here and there. The hot lure of the week was a tiny 2.5″ Imo Kemushi stick worm Neko rigged.
Check my full-length vlogs below for the full action along with my family video!
We really enjoyed our stay, rebooked again for next year before we left. Counting the days until 2027…
